Step 6

Apply for Entry-Level Job Offering Assessment

ADDENDUM

In the last quarter of 2023, USPS began rolling out an upgrade to the Careers Page used in their hiring process. Using this new Careers Page simplifies the process by shortening the application steps and completion time, and adding the assessment to be taken at the same time as the application is completed, as opposed to waiting for an invitation to take it at a later time.

Implementing this upgrade is a major transition, therefore, it will be done in parts. The first part to be transitioned to the new Careers Page are jobs posted in the Mail Handler category. These jobs transitioned in December 2023.

What does this mean for you? This means both the old and new Career Pages and processes will be used for entry level jobs. You just need to follow the normal steps set forth for you in this program to search for jobs. If you select a Mail Handler position, then you will be directed to the new Careers Page and simply follow the steps below to proceed. This will apply to all other entry level positions as well when they are transitioned over to the new Careers Page.

As stated in the previous step, when you Search and Apply for jobs, you should be logged into your eCareer Account Profile. If you just finished creating your eCareer Profile then you are already logged in.

If you are not currently logged in, go to http://about.usps.com/careers/search-apply/welcome.htm and click on the Profile login link in the upper right corner of the page.
